Review on High-Speed Steel (HSS) Planer Blades Set of 3 - Replacement for DEWALT DW7342 DW734 by POWERTEC 12801 by Greg Anderson

I have been using these replacement blades for several years now. I know some users sharpen these blades, but I usually use them until they're dull on both sides and then replace them with new ones. It's really subjective and hard to measure, but I just feel like these blades last a little longer than Dewalt blades. A lot depends on the type and amount of material you are feeding through the planer at one time. At worst they work the same as Dewalt and being $5-10 cheaper than Dewalt they are very good value for money. Some reviewers say the quality has gone down, but I haven't noticed it at all in the 5 years of using these blades. Again, a lot depends on what you're going through with your plane at any given time, and there's no guarantee that another brand of blade would perform better in the same circumstances.
