Good headlines if you don't want to cut your wings.

I installed them on a Nova 63 with a standard subframe. You were difficult! I'll start on the driver's side, I thought it would be more difficult, but it isn't. This side should enter from below. I ended up jacking up the rear and putting the tires on the ramps. I raised the front part as high as possible and put it on a stand. I was going to replace my intermediate link and tie rod ends anyway so I just removed all the steering. I also had to remove the oil filter. With everything out of the way, he slid straight up. The passenger side is mounted on top. I removed the starter. You still need to replace the starter with a mini starter if you have a large flywheel. So the first problem on this page was that I couldn't get the 2nd bolt on the front of the manifold through the flange. The pressure pipe is too close to the flange for the bolt to enter the hole. I read elsewhere that this was also a problem, but the other guy dented the back of the tube to mount the screw. I definitely didn't want to dent my new head, so I just took a bandsaw and cut 1/8 off. -1/4” from the screw. However, there were many threads in the head to pull it tight. The next problem was that after tightening I noticed that the manifold was pinching the fuel and brake lines at the subframe where it was coming out from underneath. I manually bent the brake line to clear it at the factory. I routed the fuel line under the gearbox. Below I noticed that the header actually hits the subframe. Approximately 12 inches from where the brake and fuel lines are pinched. I ended up taking a tungsten carbide vibratory saw and cut off just over 1/4 inch by 6 inches long from the subframe. It was easier than taking the head out and making a dent in it. They're definitely snug, but I think they're worth it if you don't want to wear Fenderwell headlines.
