Facilitates complex restorations!

For many years I dreamed of owning a sandblaster. I'm one of those people who think a lot about making treasure out of junk. When I saw the price of this sandblaster I was very happy. For some reason I've only noticed sandblasters before, which were way more expensive. To put it mildly, I decided to jump on it. I am very new to using power tools. I don't think of all the elements that go into their use. I was a little surprised when I realized I needed an air compressor and filter to make it work. Needless to say I didn't read the entire description! In hindsight, I laugh at how obvious it was that I would need an air compressor. After solving problems with additional equipment, I had to use a sandblaster. I was very pleased with how light it is. I can't imagine holding a heavy sand-filled blaster. My first project was an antique headboard that I received as a gift. It has been in my barn for many years. Whenever I went out to see it, I was discouraged. There were many tiny deep groves and many scrolls that needed clearing. Most of the headboard was already stripped of layers of paint. But small hard-to-reach places were almost unaffected. Anyway, it was so easy to use this sandblaster in these areas. That made the job easier. I used coarser sand to remove the paint. Then switched to a finer grit to smooth out the entire head part. I don't know yet what finish I want on the headboard. But I'm happy to be at this point.
