A vet came to visit yesterday to give my tomcat Albert Einstein a rabies shot; I had never seen them before and they did the mandatory inspection. As with his most recent physical, Albert received high marks for minimal tartar. I'm attaching a video of me brushing Albert's teeth with CET toothpaste. After that he gets greenies. In a video I saw on YouTube about grooming a cat's teeth, the guy brushed his teeth from behind and lifted the cat's lips on either side, but this cat was either heavily sedated or eerily calm, and AE This I didn't like the method. I found that if I used the paste he loves (MEZ; he backed away from his hand and hammer) he would lick the brush and I could gently put it in his mouth, see video. HIS old brush looked like a man. brush but smaller. I chose this species because while rotating the previous ones in his mouth, he always chewed plastic intermittently. It's tiny and at first I almost thought it was for a kitten, but I think it will do the trick and Albert likes it. he is eight I've always had to keep a cat for dental care at this point and I'm hoping that if I keep brushing we might be able to avoid it altogether.
