Review on Carbon Ultralite Motorcycle Puncture Repair by Frank Ridl

Revainrating 2 out of 5

I will be replacing this kit with something more useful and effective

I saw this on Amazon and thought it was a really smart idea so I bought one in place of the standard set. I have this on my bike just in case. Well I just had the 'opportunity' to test this on my bus. A small nail punctured the tire at a steep angle. I decided to plug the tire so I could mine was able to ride a bike until a spare tire came.I won't say this kit is a complete failure but I wouldn't count on this kit to work if given an apartment in the middle of nowhere with no cell service.I was really surprised how poorly it worked given Amazon's high rating.I wonder if other reviewers have tried this set before posting a review.I am quite big/strong and almost gave up. 2) The first plug I put in leaked a lot even though the hole it plugged was tiny. That surprised me a little. 3) The second plug I put in fixed the leak but now the brass tip of the first plug is rolling around in my tire and I'm wondering if that will damage the pressure sensor. 4) Replacement plugs are difficult to fit into the liner tube, and by difficult I mean pretty damn near impossible. 5) Extra plugs not stored in the insertion tube have a tendency to twist and deform. Also, there's no storage space for the extra ports that tie them together unless you figure out how to store them. I wrapped mine in thick plastic.

Pros
  • FEATURES: Can repair all tubeless punctures without removing the tire from the wheel. Types of tires include: motorcycle and scooter. A plug can plug a 3/16" hole! Made in the USA with a LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY.
