I have a Miniature Pinscher who had a hard life before I adopted him. This resulted in him throwing, pulling, and running away from traditional harnesses and collars. Fearing it might run away and get hurt (or worse), I didn't take it out as often as I should have. I have tried several combinations of tethers, collars and escape devices and nothing has worked so far. I have trained my large breed dogs to walk with a collar and have always had great success. I've been using the same halti for large dogs for 10 years. Eventually I decided to order a small one for my mini pin. At first he didn't want anything to do with it and jumped and rolled and shook his head to get the collar off. After receiving many positive reinforcements and rewards, he learned that Halti is good and that he no longer strangles himself or tries to run away while we are walking. I love that the part that goes over the nose is padded for extra comfort. My dog is larger than the average mini needle so this item fits her. It was a little loose but nothing that needed sewing. If your dog has a tiny head, sewing may be your only option. I would highly recommend this product to anyone with a stubborn dog, no matter the size, it's definitely worth the money.
