This colander is excellent, too bad I didn't see it and didn't order it sooner. I used a traditional stainless steel strainer with multiple holes in a fancy pattern, but it didn't drain anything very well. I saw this strainer and decided to try it and it works so much better! It has hundreds of small holes that quickly release liquid while keeping the solids in the bowl. It's lightweight but durable, the handles don't get hot. I washed the rice and lentils and none of it comes through the holes. The pasta drains quickly so it doesn't cool down while you wait for the water to drain. Fruits are easy to clean. It holds the same amount as my old colander but is not as tall and fits better in a closet. I've only had it a few months so can't comment on durability but seems solid. Easy to wash. I am very happy that I ordered it.
