I really liked this set, especially the many ideas that went with it. Decent tapestry needles, a pair of hooks and even a couple of safety eyes and 24 skeins - for less than $30 this is a great introduction to crocheting. Even the plastic bag it comes in will come in handy for projects. I was also very impressed by the colors. My only criticism of the yarn colors, however, is that the red-orange-yellow side of the color wheel is juicy and amazing, but the blue-green-turquoise side is a bit anemic, lacking the gorgeous rich jewel tones of red. Family Strands. I would really like to see dark blues and dark greens with the same intensity and variety of reds. Overall this is a great introduction to crocheting - the yarn is nice and easy to work with and the extras included mean there is no need for beginners to buy extra hooks, needles etc.
