This is an Android operating system, so it's easy to set up. I thought the upgrade was through the computer. But the computer is only for the first charge. It is therefore a pure standalone device. The original software is configured to work with cars up to 2017 but after the 2019 update. Yes I like it, a few years ago this scanner would have cost an arm and a leg but now it isn't, smile.
