works fine for me but give it a try. at your own risk

OK not to say it will work with my Ryobi Sander 290 but looking at the photos of this back cover I noticed square notches in the middle between each one the screw hole looked almost a match so I took a risk as I couldn't find a metal backing to match, anyway I made a few velcro cuts where the screws went, screwed in the first screw (top) and used it a few turns to the Rotate the stop, then insert the 2nd screw (bottom) directly opposite, then tighten the last 2 screws (left and right). what i did and my experience
