Review on HITRENDS Power Strip Surge Protector with 3 πŸ’‘ Outlets, 3 USB Ports, and 5ft Extension Cord - Black by Saul Rivera

Revainrating 3 out of 5

USB is not 5V/2.4Ax3 as advertised but will work on 220V

This is a nice and small power strip but USB sockets CANNOT be 3 x 2.4A or 6 A total process. I have received, tested and opened both the 5V 2.4A+1Ax2 and 5V/2.4Ax3 versions. They are exactly the same inside. Each USB port can supply 2.4A on its own, but if the total output current exceeds 4.8A, it will shut down completely due to overheating. It's not smart, ie. ALL ports drop to 0, so more than 2 devices cannot be charged at full power. Note that the voltage drops to about 4.7 volts at about 3.5 amps, giving a total power output from the USB port of about 20 watts. The good news is that all internals are rated for 220 volts and the USB ports work fine, I checked that too. This means it can be a useful add-on for international travel when using a single plug adapter. It is NOT UL listed and I have NOT tried the surge protector so use at your own risk!
