This is Type N, NOT Type K
Type N has a lower output voltage, at 2000F the difference is several 100 degrees. It reads lower, so the oven is getting hotter. If your oven is set to Type N, it will work normally. If you need Type K, look elsewhere. Other manufacturers make the same mistake. I think a manufacturer made a bunch and it's probably not clear what they shipped. It looks the same, but it isn't. I changed my settings to Type N. It works fine now.
