Looks like a good jack

I bought this jack based on recommendations from other people on a caravan forum that I visit frequently. My original bushing (LCI) was very noisy, started making all sorts of grinding/popping noises and was about to fail immediately. I was a little apprehensive about ordering the Barker online when I read that others had received their jack and it was damaged in transit. The one I received was in great condition and the manufacturer put some cushions around the head of the unit to help with shipping. Connector LKI. I flipped the switch to lower the jack and nothing happened. I turned on the light and it worked so I knew the socket was getting power. The up/down switch seemed loose so I tightened the nut holding the switch to the cover. Nothing yet. I undid the two screws holding the cover to inspect the switch and found that the spade connector had come loose from the switch inside. I put the spade connector back onto the switch and took some pliers to crimp it a little since it still seemed loose after reconnecting it. SUCCESS, the jack works. I shared my experience on the caravan forum mentioned above and another member commented that the exact same thing had happened to him the day before with the same Barker 3500 jack he bought. Maybe Barker will read this and see if they have a manufacturing issue where the spade terminals aren't tight enough or aren't even installed on the switch. I like the jack as it seems to have a lot more power than my original. It's also much quieter and slightly faster. I expect this to last a long time. I would recommend this socket.
