Review on Securely Carry Your Laptop And Books With Our Anti-Theft Business Backpack - 15.6Inch, Grey by Ameen Bethea

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Bigger than I expected but I like it overall

*** I was going to give this backpack 4 stars. I brought it down to 3 stars because it doesn't look as advertised. If I traveled more, I would've cared more and possibly returned it. But I kept it because it serves my basic purpose for it.*****I was tired of carrying my laptop in a one-shoulder carrying bag. I noticed a lot of folks at my company wore backpacks and decided to find one too. I searched long and hard to find one that could potentially serve more than one purpose. I came across this TSA-friendly backpack. I don't really travel much. I hadn't been on a plane since 2017 and before that, 2008. But I thought to myself "why not set myself up for success for future trips?" The Q and A section really helped me know that this backpack could fit under a seat. I bought it and have been using it for work every day for the last 3 months now. I even took a round-trip via plane May 2022 and successfully used this as my personal bag (see my pics of it under the seat in front of me and also hanging on a hook when I used the airport restroom). I had so much space in that backpack to travel and I didn't know what to do with all that space. So it was only 25-30% full tbh yet it looks so inflated, lol. In addition, these past 4 weeks I have been carrying two laptops in that laptop portion of the bag and it's always been secure. No issues at all when it comes to this! handles are very comfortable on my shoulders. I had no issues walking around the airport for hours with this on my back.I only have four small complaints about it:1) It projects out a lot more than I would want. When I walk around work and stare at myself through glass windows, I feel like I look like a camper or kid in HS. I wish it would just lay flat (comparing my backpack to the ones in the display pic. it seems obvious that the pictures are misleading and this isn't the same backpack. I bought this with the impression that it would be flat like theirs)2) The zipper pulls are SO loud. Every time I walk through the [quiet] halls at work I would just hear myself 'jingle jingle' away! I can't even make a quiet exit/entrance unless there's a crowd in conversation. This is super annoying! I am still trying to figure out how to make it stop jingling. Maybe I'll tape a few together? idk. But it's embarrassing and annoying to say the least.3) Mine didn't come with lock shackles for the zippers. So it's not as "anti-theft" as they advertise it to be, smh. This functionality would've come in handy for my point #2 above (another instance where the pics are misleading).4) No luggage strap at the back unlike what's in the pictures. The back of my backpack also looks nothing like the ones in the pic, smh.Prior to purchasing I did read reviews saying that the laptop compartment opened up on its own for someone and their laptop broke. I dreaded this! So I was very diligent about buckling my bag on both sides to prevent this. Although I don't buckle up 100%. I can say I buckled up 85-90% of the time in the last 3 months. On only one occasion in the 10-15% times I didn't buckle up did the zipper slowly unzip my laptop compartment. I was walking in the garage at work and didn't even feel/notice it. It wasn't until I felt something dragging behind me that I noticed it was my headset and it's wire dragging on the floor from the laptop compartment (my work laptop was secure in the laptop pocket).I have worn it in the rain (with a laptop inside) but not long for me to say how water resistant it is. But the rain didn't penetrate at all inside it from the little time I've used it in rain!I haven't used "all features" of it (i.e. the headphones hole or USB battery charger). So maybe if/when I do I will update this review.
