These are great for adding rainbow vomit to your existing setup. I knew Phanteks used proprietary pins and was concerned it wouldn't work with my controller. My mobo doesn't have a 3-pin ARGB, but my CPU cooler has its own 3-pin controller. The backlight is Phantex Halos LUX Digital. Top and front lights are all Phantex Halos Digital (not LUX). All Phantex Digital are connected in series without additional plugs. The Phantex LUX Digital comes with an adapter between a proprietary 3-pin connector and a standard 3-pin ARGB connector. I suppose you could make your own adapter using a small eraser and pieces of paper clip if you want to save $5. For reference, the controller I am using comes with my CoolerMaster MA420M and all modes work. Each fan can simultaneously display multiple colors on different parts of the fan if your controller allows it. The beauty of having everything lined up is that colors, times and patterns are in sync so you don't have to fiddle around with multiple programs like chroma, icue or whatever. They're a bit more expensive if you only want to light up a fan or two. Consider that many high-end non-RGB fans start at $15. If you add a $10 lamp (not to mention an adapter and/or splitter cable) you're entering $25 per fan area and could just buy a good fan (like Corsair ML RGB fan) that comes with its own RGB is delivered.
