Update 2020: Don't worry; Cheap headphones are much better.

UPDATE 2020: I have replaced my Tracfone twice in the last 3 years with excellent repair and these headphones with $13 Panasonic in-ears with mic on a cord. The new setup is lighter and sounds better as well as being smaller. Time and technology are advancing! And if you want more than 25dB of noise-cancellation, throw in some cheap passive headphones: the headphone cords easily pass under the headphones, giving you better-than-Bose performance for less than $30. This review may help some potential buyers understand some of the benefits. Pros and cons of this device. Pros: (1) This headset is very cheap compared to others on the market, so it won't weigh too much on your wallet. (2) When used with my laptop it works great: the sound in headphones is pretty good compared to a landline phone and sometimes better/worse than when connected to a cellphone, often depending on the cellular system and settings. (3) If you have a jack coming out of your computer, mobile phone, tablet or any other device you want to use the headset with, everything is fine. (4) All connectors have decent looking strain reliefs on the cables so they shouldn't be too flimsy. working for everyday use - headphone sound was good but people I spoke to said my voice sounded very tinny, much like you would expect from a military aircraft or car intercom - probably an impedance or preamp issue between the phone circuitry and the microphone in headphones. (2) If you've played video games and/or need superior sound quality, these are definitely not for you - these are inexpensive, functional headphones, not a bunch of wonderful Bose or Sennheiser phones. (3) If your computer, mobile phone, tablet or other device you want to use the headset with has a dual jack, you will need to use the cable splitter provided - not a big deal as it comes with the headset and is free, but it does is another thing to clutter your workspace. I've only been using the headset for a few days and basically only use Skype calls from my Lenovo laptop. I bought a right angle extension cord (with an 8" cord) so I can plug in and unplug my headset without overloading the single 3.5mm jack on my laptop - figured I'd do that in the future would cause far fewer problems. a faulty extension cord replacement plug than dealing with a faulty connector on the motherboard, which can happen if you plug and unplug more than a few thousand times. All in all this seems like a very good buy - now we'll have to see how long the headset lasts with the multiple daily uses I wear it on.
