Do not go to the dealer and pay a lot of money and time. You can do it

Time will tell, as with anything, their durability These little stands, an OEM replacement for my wife's Mini, work well. Took me five minutes to replace them tonight after leaving work. It was dark. It took me longer to find a flashlight to see what I was doing and something to prop up the tailgate - I ended up using the push handle to place the puk under the door (laughs, I live in Hawaii. puk is a hole). a perfect spot on the lower right side of the tailgate, which I braced with the door open. Use a small 1/8" screwdriver to pry the spring clip out of the bottom of a post. Very easy. I used it on the right pillar (since you're looking at the car from the back) but could have started with the left pillar first. It wouldn't matter so I used a very small flathead screwdriver and backed off the spring at the bottom and top of the post. Then simply pull back at the base and top of the rack. at the ends of it. They jumped out. Then put on new ones. I squeezed and they immediately popped out. Three things need to be said about this. The top and bottom of the shock you received face the same direction, but the mounting points are rotated 180 degrees from each other. So you pull the post a little and rotate it 180 degrees. Then both the top and bottom are simply pushed inwards. I actually had to press the front of the retaining clip onto one or two of them to completely lick the spring clip. also 1 second each. After I installed the first jamb, the door lifted a bit. I no longer needed a broomstick to hold the door open. Then I removed the other post and put in the new one. You can do this. The scariest thing is just doing it for the first time, but there really is no need to be afraid. If you can take off your shoes and put the plug in the socket. You can do that.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Not the best
