Early chipping suitable for peeling knives

I initially gave this knife 5 stars. After a few months of use I found early pitting of the steel on the blade near the handle. I really like this paring knife and use it more often than my other knives - great feel, sharp blade, great kitchen tool. I wash my knife thoroughly with soap and water and dry it after each use. Maybe I have a production accident. I will update this comment after a few months of use.
