This worm (the part that looks like a screw) is machined incorrectly for an OEM worm gear. Photo 1 shows this worm and its poor fit with the OEM worm gear. Note that there is a small gap at the center contact point. The axial pitch is incorrect and the worm does not match the OEM worm gear well, resulting in significant seizure in the mirror drive assembly. Photo 2 shows a properly mated OEM worm and OEM worm gear. Notice that there is no gap at the midpoint of the contact. I bought 2 of these gears, both were bad and the mount could damage the plastic housing of the gear. If you buy any of the other Revain gears, be sure to check this match before assembling the drivetrain. Also be aware of the weather, a metal gear like this used with an OEM drive motor will cause a short to ground which could damage the door control module. This cheap solution can become expensive!
