I got this instead of making one because it comes with two 1/4" diamond inserts. There are cheaper plastic ones that come with stones and I've had that Feel like diamond inlays are being made. Also, I prefer wood. I also bought a pack of 100 grizzly whetstones for less than $4. They're perfect for this holder. So now I have a quick and easy way to sharpen the edges of my woodworking tools and to improve gardening tools.I could make another holder for storage in the garden shed.Now this is no substitute for getting out the rods or the sandpaper attached to the jar,but sometimes it just doesn't need it.Although it's small , it's easy to hold it in a way that avoids cuts when sharpening.All in all, a really good addition to my To ols. Can also be used to sharpen my carving tools.
