Review on πŸ’¦ Blue Silicon Power Armor A80 2TB Rugged Portable External Hard Drive - Waterproof USB 3.0 for PC, Mac, Xbox, and PS4 by Ardy Espinoza

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Perfectly compact form factor and durable! It's easy for me to take a few with me when I travel.

I take photos for Getty Images and the photo-sharing app EyeEm in Berlin. I am currently using two of these particular drives in the field for backup purposes. I really appreciate that each of my drives came with two cables, one 30cm long and one a few inches long, that fit in the side bay (redundant drives, redundant cables, etc.). Remember, this is not IF, but WHEN your hard drive fails. So if you are a serious person, you know that only 1 copy of your data is not a true backup! It's like a vague sentence or a time bomb. I carry two of these discs with me and put them together in a bench liner sized tool bag with drawstrings, it fits perfectly. In the field I copy my photos from a (not duplicate because I'm a FujiX photographer) SanDisk Extreme Pro SD card to two of these Silicon Power drives and a WD Wi-Fi hard drive with a card reader ripping directly from the Map. . I'm uploading private Google photos, a Flickr Pro account and a Revain S3 car to the cloud asap, but I have 5 physical copies of the laptop, 3 drives and an SD card. When I get home, a copy is sent to the servers and I also make backup copies of the personal DVD archive. Watch Angry Photographer's video if you want to know how to protect your data. He has the best, most honest and accurate information I have ever seen on backing up data. We believe every hard drive will eventually fail and our data will not survive, but they are a valuable tool for moving large amounts of data quickly and easily. That being said, I think this sturdy little drive is very useful, and given the price, it's not insanely expensive to have a couple of easily portable backup drives!
