Review on Kraft Cover Blank Paper Sketch by Gelin Battle

Good watercolour/mixed media magazine

If you can live with the fact that this book might unbind, then you have a decent mixed media magazine notebook. I'm a real fan of the sizes, slightly larger than travel magazine size but smaller than large US aged which is a lovely vintage cream color. Surprisingly, the paper holds watercolors well (kuretake, walnut inks, fountain pen inks, glitter watercolors), although perhaps not for detail, but for blurring backgrounds watercolor works well, doesn't damage the paper, and dries easily. I've also used glitter pens, gel pens, archival fountain pens and no bleeding issues. I often touch up the edges with stamp ink to give the pages a aged look and easily glue the 28 pound printed images to the pages. I even have a one-sided rubber sticker that hasn't come off yet. Make no mistake, I beat this book by cluttering it with bulky pages, so in its defense it was only a matter of time before it came loose from the heavy craft binding. That being said, I recommend using a magazine cover to keep everything to yourself and using a large hair band to cover up the book.
