Bought after a house fire, out of gas in the middle of a pandemic. This was the first time I've used an infrared cooking device and I have to say I'm very happy with the results👍It obviously doesn't heat up as quickly as a gas stove, but the even heat distribution makes up for it. It also heats the center of your pot/pan more than a traditional gas range. The most notable feature I find with infrared technology is how gentle it is on my cookware. It doesn't burn on fat/oil and bake them on the surface like fire. Cleaning the pan after eating is a drop of soap and a sponge, no scrubbing. or outside cleaning needed 👍 Despite being such a big fan of this hob, I decided to throw away the gas stove! Goodbye forever! The hob switches itself off at a certain temperature (don't know which), the knobs for controlling the heat are quite archaic and simple, but they also work smoothly and are easy to read. I usually use the highest setting anyway, lower settings would be ideal when making your own sauces so they can simmer well without burning anything (another thing that's hard to achieve with a gas stove). Overall I'm happy with this hob and would recommend it to anyone who has a huge range. just sit, take up space, except for the stove. I don't miss the old piece of shit when I have it. I even washed it under the tap (closed all ports first) after cleaning it with soap and water, the build quality here is top notch. (Usually electric cooktops are "disposable" which means they won't work after the first cleaning, this one will still work after two). The quality of the food is as good as on a traditional gas stove and the kitchen never heats up while cooking, unlike you. I know that. 5 stars!.and one more thing, the hob looks AMAZING without pots in a dark kitchen👍
