Yes, it's ugly. Yes, it doesn't have backpack straps or a shoulder strap (which they definitely should add), but I keep it on the floor in hospital waiting rooms and on the floor in restaurants between my husband and I. I won't wait for summer to put it on the grass during festivals! It was freaking awesome to be able to take a crib literally anywhere! Friends house is much easier! I wish I had had this with my first son, it makes life so much easier! I wanted to make a moses basket but when we got it my husband was so uncomfortable putting the baby in something with strong sides. That solves the problem and we're both happy as clams! This kid is the 5th in our house and spends a lot of time doing sports and stuff like that so we fucking use it and it's been so helpful!
