DOES NOT fit Makita brand tools

I can give you my opinion on both. Long story short this vacuum cleaner works. But if you were hoping it would fit your Makita brand tools, it doesn't. I bought it specifically to work with my 18v plunge saw and my 18v miter saw (both relatively modern, bought in the last 8 months) but was very disappointed to find the hose didn't fit any of my tools, I knew it wouldn't connect to a grinder it would obviously can't be plugged into your 18 volt grinder.I used a friend's ryobi for a while and then decided to use my own.A ryobi worked well because it had a slanted key also has a head that can "automatically fill" whatever you pour into it. It didn't fit perfectly, but at least it fit both my plunge saw and miter saw and was usable, unlike the Makita hose which doesn't even plug in or attach, just presses against the joint. Maybe Makita will change this in the tools they release from now on, but it's frustrating for me that it doesn't match the tools I have now. I can't speak to the use of their "wet" functions as I'm just a carpenter and only needed the "dry" vacuum functions. Since I had both, I was able to make a direct comparison. admit it, but it seems to suck harder. I tried it with the same accessory. Again, the Makita suction seems to be good.) Hose length: Makita (about 52 inches in a straight line, Ryobi 47 inches in a straight line), just sits on top, handy on/off button While the Makita sort of has weird height / low on/off dial that is all plastic and a battery "chamber" that you have to open to take the battery out and also wraps around the hose which takes an extra second .) Size: I would say a tie. (Makita is noticeably smaller but larger. Ryobi definitely takes up more square feet. I'm not sure one will hold more than the other. Makita seems like a better size for a car wash.) Either way, I'll either have something Promotion buy hose (but it seems annoying). Or I'll return it and buy a Ryobi that's about 2/3 the price. I hope this helped.

Pros
  • Powerful BL brushless motor delivers 57 CFM and 27" water suction lift when using LXT 18V Li-ion battery (battery not included)
Cons
  • poorly thought out
