Review on 🌦️ Durable and Weather-Resistant Polymaker Filament for Cardboard Crafts by Joshua Albright

Difficult to handle due to warping

This material is prone to warping. Even with the printer completely closed, a PEI layer heated to 100°C and a nozzle at 250°C, the deformation is so severe that the part detaches from the table after several layers. Small parts may be fine, but large areas will inevitably detach from the print bed during printing. I couldn't find any combination of bed temp/jet/fan speed etc to avoid the part detaching from the bed. Also tried to modulate the values with a layer (e.g. hot on the first layer, fan for the first 3-4 layers etc.) but a part still appears in the middle of the print. Of course the manufacturer's recommended temperature ranges are useless, and any advice you may read is not relevant to this material. My machine usually just prints ABS with almost no crashes, but this ASA seems impossible to handle. Update 12/14/2019 Decided to try further and to finally get this material to stick I had to sand down the PEI with 800 grit sandpaper. . It adhered well to the PEI surface, but the deformation on a large part was so severe that the magnetic platform pulled! For reference, this is an indoor printer, platform temperature 100°C and nozzle 250°C (E3D v6, with BMG extruder). .After getting these initial results, I've upgraded my rating to 3 stars.
