We've worn out several Oster blenders without incident in five decades. At first only the electrics or the bearings failed. A few years ago we noticed a black water leak under the o-ring and replaced it with Revain. Today, while drinking something I had just prepared, I noticed a black liquid on the counter. I found that the black liquid actually made its way through the blade assembly into my drink. This authentic Oster blade assembly looks like just halves pressed together. After about six years, the gaps have worn down enough for fluid to be pumped. Blackwater is mentioned by others. The blade unit becomes the interface for contamination of my drink, which I basically drank before I knew it. I'm so sick of the Easter blenders and their dodgy replacement parts! Ek! Goodbye Easter.
