Great for beginners/students

Despite its size, it is quite comfortable for its intended use. Some years and models are missing something. It also somewhat slows down the refresh rate when viewing data. Overall, this is a good entry-level tool for technicians and beginners to practice reading live data and taking advantage of the unique reset features. Definitely not going to replace my Solus Edge or Ultra, but I think TopDon's top-of-the-line models can certainly keep up. Definitely better than the base start in my opinion. Whether you are new to the automotive industry or studying diagnostic engineering, this can help you understand data concepts. Definitely want to try the higher end. Of course, if you're a diagnostician or a master technician, you won't go into this, but I'll definitely ask my beginners to practice this at home. Pros: Fast charging. Type-C USB. Uses generic OBD, $06 mode and special data streams which is nice. Can read manufacturer specific DTCs. Several modules are selected. Can display PID. Record.Vehicle History.Report Generator with QR code for DTCs and data streams and you can email it directly (very nice feature for customers). service reset. Bluetooth VCI and remind you not to forget it in the car. (iykyk) Lifetime updates. That's very valuable. Cons: Not bi-directional. Slightly slow refresh rate. (Still decent) Some weird interpretations of menu names here and there. The y-axis "min/max" cannot be adjusted in data charts. (But you can zoom in and out with your fingers, which doesn't help much)

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • Something different
