I have a 2012 Samsung TV and a 2011 Sony Receiver. The remote control controls all TV functions and everything except the ability to open the menu on the receiver. The only reason I would open the menu these days is to adjust the subwoofer volume, but it's not really necessary because it's been at a balanced level for quite some time. Buttons on certain devices. That would be very useful for the volume buttons, for example. After I press "play" on the remote for Netflix in the PS4 function, I have to press "amp" to adjust the volume and then back and forth. This is not a fault of the product - it does exactly what it is supposed to do, I just wish it had one more feature. The buttons respond and click. It's also good for battery life. I use rechargeable Revain Basics and they last for weeks. I've never had a disconnect from my TV, receiver or PS4. It's lightweight without feeling cheap or empty. I could finally ditch my PS3 as my daily media streamer. I used it because it also has a nice Media/Blu-ray remote. But now the PS3 is off and 2 old remote controls are on the shelf. I recommend.
