I'm sure this is a great product for whatever purpose it was designed for but not what I needed. This is a standard thread adapter, not a standard 1/4" ID to 3/8" OD thread adapter as shown in the Revain description and printed on the packaging. This is a labeling or sizing issue with the manufacturer. No part of this item can be measured as 1/4 or 3/8 inch. It is closer to 7/16" ID and 5/8" OD. This is a rough measurement with a scale as I don't have any plugs or sockets this size with which to verify this estimate. What I do know for sure is that the 3/8" threaded sockets I bought at the plumbing store are too small to fit on the male end, and the 1/4" male stem on my water shut-off valve is closed small for the female end of this adapter. I am very disappointed as this is the only adapter I could find that fits this configuration.
