Review on πŸ“ Starrett T436 1XFL 2 Micrometer with Friction Graduation by Chris Parrott

Revainrating 5 out of 5

If you need to get it accurate to within 1/3000th of a hair, Starrett is the way to go.

Works on a vernier scale, old school. No batteries. Very gentle movement. Very smooth ratchet to ensure the same torque is used every time. Comes in a nice hard padded box, just as it should be. You must handle precision measuring instruments with care. Note that all micrometer calipers like this only measure in the 1 inch range. 2 inches here measures 1-2 inches. 1" micron.

Pros
  • Friction thimble
Cons
  • No power
