A small item to make your life easier

4th time bought., 1st time was in 2017. Long service. Please note that whenever you work on metal, polishing should be the very last step (most people think this is obvious, but EVEN the pros don't fully understand it) and it should NOT take long. So if you spend a lot of time with a felt polisher, step back and switch to 1000-3000 grit sandpaper. With metal, most of the hard work is done with ultra-fine sandpaper; Easier to get a perfectly flat/even surface. Unfortunately, this means that a little effort and sweat has to be put into the project. SUPER IMPORTANT! - PLEASE NOTE: Polishing is not like using a drill. As a general rule (for a drill), the larger the drill, the slower the speed; and the smaller the bit, the faster the rotation speed. Felt polishing tools, while they may look and act similar to a drill, ie rotate about a central axis, do not fall under this general rule of thumb. When using a felt buffing tip, especially a smaller one, use as low a speed as possible. Many Dremel tools allow you to choose between 5000 and 8000 RPM. This is the fastest speed I would use with small tips. The photos posted by another user show what happens when you increase the RPM - the tip flies off. Remember that polishing is the final step in the process - it's very delicate. Any burly male welder/pipeworker who thinks he can approach polishing small details with a "thanks ma'am" attitude will only be disappointed and likely to leave bad reviews.
