These straps are the same quality that I have bought for the last 45+ years. I bought new pedals with toe clips and they came with the now standard nylon sock straps. I didn't bother with the nylon straps when I bought them but then I fell over twice at bus stops because one of my legs got tangled in the strap, how embarrassing except broke it. I've never had this problem with leather straps adjusted properly so I bought these straps and they performed as expected and no longer tipped over at stops which is one of the many reasons I've avoided cleats.
