Updated on 6/6/19! Finally I got the opportunity to cut off the 1st layer. I only need 1 minute to cut it off. So easy! We recommend! It's been almost 2 weeks since I received the Kaylermade 5-1 cutting board. All I can say is "I LOVE IT". The quality of the board is very good. The weight is sufficient so that the board is very stable. The non-slip design of the base has to be the best I've ever used. Other brand cutting boards that I have used before have been very slippery, especially when my countertop is wet. However, this has not yet happened with the Kaylermade cutting board. 😆 Also, as a mother of three, I worry about children who are sick with germs of any kind. As a result, I have to change my wooden cutting board frequently as it can leave raw meat and leftover food on it, leading to bacterial growth. Remove the top layer and use a new layer. Since I only used it for a short time I didn't get a chance to cut the first layer. I look forward to it! ! !I will update more once I remove the first layer! But for now I highly recommend this product. Worth my money!
