I have the wobbliest banister. It's not level, it sits a bit uneven on the edge and overall it's not designed for a baby gate. The problem is that I have a child and steep stairs. Well I was looking for a solution and these extensions are the solution. I have a Regalo baby gate and although these extensions were not made for this gate we made it work. I just had to add my own washers and everything worked fine. Make sure you measure the inside of your gate where the extension will screw in, as it's another tenth of an inch too tight on my gate and there's no way it could fit. what to do. They are about 4 inches long but need to be screwed into the baby gate so they don't actually lengthen the gate. They are solid metal and have a little padding that would theoretically protect the railing, mine is wrought iron so I think they are secure. However, the pillow falls off, see my photos for reference. In general it works, it didn't work perfectly, we had to change it. Mainly because of my weird railings, but I'm happy because I found a way to keep the baby gate where it should be.
