The placement of the plugs is convenient for these large power adapters, and for the most part you can use the plugs and still plug in USB. Always use the wireless charger from above. Since he's asking about travel, I'll say that I don't think this is a great surge protector for travel. It would be killer, don't get me wrong, but it's more than I want to carry in my pocket.
