Review on 🐶 Enhance Dog Training with Garmin Delta Sport XC Bundle, Handheld Device & Built-in BarkLimiter by Sandra Reyes

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Poor Barklimiter is the best in collars, harnesses and leashes

I bought two of these to use with my Labradoodles and tied them to one controller, although we used to use two controllers so my wife could have a dog could repair while I repair other. As a remote controlled collar I really like Garmin, the bands are flexible but strong, I wear the collars on my dogs 10-12 hours a day and the battery lasts 4-5 days as my dogs rarely need correction at this point. When I use the correction it is constant and there are enough levels to fine tune the stimulation strength. I had a SportDog field trainer prior to Garmin and felt limited in stimulation levels as even 1 was too strong, but that is not the case with Garmin (my dogs get irritated and shake their heads down to stimulation level 3 or below). 4 with Garmin). The reason I'm giving the collar such a low rating is because I spent extra money on a BarkLimiter feature that basically doesn't work. My collars fit well and dogs respond reliably to manual stimulation, so I know it's not a contact issue. Anyway, I tried both the long and short prongs, tried their auto-lift feature, and set the manual bark to twice my normal training pace. I positioned the receiver over her vocal cords as per the manual to make sure the BarkLimiter feature was indeed enabled, but no luck. In the 3 months I've owned this collar with the BarkLimiter always on, the BarkLimiter has worked about 10 times, although my dogs bark every day when someone walks in the front door. Several times my dogs were shocked as they growled during play but then barked 5-6 times from the collar with no response. The bark feature is just too inconsistent and there is no way to set the bark detection sensitivity to respond to noise/vibration/both. Overall a good remote collar but a very poor bark collar.
