First, I like the colors I like. I used purple core, orange and blue for all eight wheels. After my first run with them the wheels were lapped in and I was comfortable with the traction the orange outer gave me. They didn't feel too grippy and I didn't slip. I went for a heavier set. Yellow with a blue hub and I slide a lot with it on all 8 wheels. I retuned my setup and added my 88s back in and it was much better but still smooth. newer unused yellows and test run around the top. I will probably buy 84/88 to mix them long term. I love them and finding the right bike for the right terrain can be difficult. I run polished (not very) wooden tracks and finished (unpolished) concrete. The concrete wore out my softer (orange/blue) wheels very quickly. They lasted about 4 months, with 2 training sessions per week on a wooden surface and 1 per week on a concrete surface. Hope that helps!
