Review on πŸƒ Unleash Your Potential with the Coros APEX Premium Multisport GPS Watch by John Rodriguez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The best investment in landing gear!

I heard a lot of good things about Coros before buying it, after more than 2 weeks of active use I would say that it has met all my expectations. I'm still learning their features, I'll list a few things I've tried so far. Battery Life This is the number one reason I chose Coros. I'm tired of worrying that the watch might die at any moment. If you plan to race for more than 12 hours, you should also consider battery life. Charging while running is not an option for me. For the 42mm APEX I bought, Coros claims 23 hours of battery life in GPS mode. I used it for 4 hours in run mode, 16.5 hours in hike mode and wore it every day (except when I was sleeping) for a week, then the battery finally dropped to 3% before I turned it off. Other comparable watches on the market can easily cost you over $500. Now I wear APEX every day, before that I only wore my Garmin 235 for training. APP Pretty smooth initial setup and very easy syncing. Heart rate monitor I don't use a chest monitor so I can't comment on the accuracy. I once noticed that the reading was too high at the beginning of a run, but after waiting for the watch to get GPS and heart rate readings and then pressing the start button, everything is fine, still need to check. training. GPSI picked this up at Rainier, the altitude reading is pretty close to my iPhone reading, 10-20 feet difference. I noticed that the readings differed when training on the treadmill. I contacted Coros and they said their altitude calculation is based on the atmosphere monitor and may not work on a track. They are currently developing a route mode to optimize the altitude calculation algorithm. Well, I don't care about the elevation change when training on the track, although it sounds good, they are actively working on improving their algorithm. Customizable workout watch face. This helps me especially during an HR workout when I really don't want to be bothered by my pace. The auto lock is also a nice feature. I accidentally paused my watch a couple of times while hiking with gloves on, then I found this feature quite handy and you can still scroll up and down to see your status, only pressing (pause/end/resume) is blocked . Training Mode You have a variety of training modes: running, indoor running, trail running, hiking, cycling, indoor cycling, pool swimming, open water. I only tried running mode and hiking mode. In run mode, you can set up interval training on your watch with a simple swipe. But only basic workouts are available, I hope they have the option to set up more advanced workouts in the app and then upload them for review like Garmin does. , you basically get an alert/vibration when your heart rate is out of range. I've found that even the lightest mode targets my 3/4 zone very intensely... I hope they have a recovery mode when I'm most concerned about my heart rate. Definitely a handy tool. Coros training data provides standard training information to analyze your training, almost the same as my Garmin, like VO2 max, fitness level, training load/effect, cadence, recommended recovery time, etc. Firmware update Although I've only had it for two weeks, I have already received a request for a firmware update, which means they are actively working on the fix or improvement? Finally, if you've done your research like I did, you know you just can't beat the price. Seriously, you pay the price of 245 but get 90% of the features of 945. I'm very happy with this purchase, highly recommended.
