Review on Emergency Radio by Eddie Breezy

This is an amazingly well made little radio. I didn't like the carrying handle at first, but after some use I found it quite comfortable. The buttons feel high-quality, the display is easy to read and the device is quite intuitive to use. Typical for this price range is the "moisture-resistant" cover that covers the USB and Micro ports. There is an elaborate technique in the triangular shape that you don't notice at first. The large base houses the battery and keeps the center of gravity low, preventing the radio from tipping over, unlike rectangular designs. There are small ribs on the underside that protect the radio from heat, moisture and sometimes vibrations. Even if the radio is placed on a window sill, the triangular shape allows the solar panel to be easily pointed up towards the sun. Slightly rectangular structures also do not work. Everything is well done! Unlike other radios, the handle is on the bottom, which keeps it out of the way and provides a secure grip and good leverage when using the handle. The hand crank also sits firmly on the underside and is less likely to snag and pop out at the wrong moment. or break! The crank moves smoothly, requires little effort to turn, and feels secure. Don't try "King Kong" to start the generator! This applies to all radios of this type. The LED lighting and alarm worked the same as all other functions. Setting is easy with the +/- switch, the power button is on the bottom right, the LED light switch is on the top, the alarm button is on the top right and the rest of the buttons are lined up on the bottom. everything is available! The audio quality is better than any other emergency radio I've had and compares well to other battery powered radios I've had. in low light but glows brightly in direct sunlight. There is a green LED in the center of the light column, which will glow brightly or glow depending on the signal strength of the tuned transmitter. The bottom LED is blue, illuminates when the device is turned on, and is closest to the power button. It's all smart engineering! I was surprised how well the solar panel works. It's a small package, but the panel feels premium and charges faster than I expected. The panel will definitely keep the battery fully drained if placed where it will get some sunlight. It charges even when it's a bit cloudy. this can be checked via the red LED. It will charge even when the interior light is bright! Some minor things: Unlike most charging systems, the red LED flashes off the wall when charging and then stops flashing when fully charged. (This is something the manual doesn't make clear.) I understand why, because the red LED is duplicated for the solar charger indicator. I just prefer the red LED when charging that turns green when charging. I will say that the bar graph on the display works very well. so i can forgive this nitpick. I hate those little telescopic antennas! They tend to break if great care is not taken. This one works just as well as you might expect. The local weather station was set up correctly and the other stations were sufficient. I would prefer the flap that the antenna is placed in to be recessed so that the entire antenna is protected when not in use. It is relatively easy to move the antenna when moving the radio. Maybe a clever engineer can design a fractal antenna that doesn't have to be used like those pathetic telescope models. Find out how the antenna works, then be gentle! keep it clean The display has a glossy surface and reflects a lot of light. It's also prone to fingerprints and smudges, but that's probably asking a heck of a lot for a device at this price point. The LED backlight is barely sufficient. Given the availability of high quality LEDs available today, this could benefit from an upgrade. The output signal is only suitable for nominal purposes, e.g. B. to look for something nearby in the dark. But it won't light up a room or a campsite. The good news is that it won't drain your battery and is very easy to use. All in all I can only recommend this radio. He does his job well and has thought through to the smallest detail.
