Review on πŸ”₯ EasyHeat 2102 Freeze-Free Heating Cable - 100 Inches by Kris Martin

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The only heating cable I would recommend

My original Easy heating cable is 20 years old and had a broken water line that didn't need replacing and re-piping, it would still be there and working fine. My new pipe is above ground in the basement so it's well packaged just in case, and the new light-duty heating cable installation is ready to go if we get an NE or temperature drop in the single digits. I wouldn't use anything other than a metal jacketed cable that freezes easily and doesn't heat up. I have an adjustable boiler thermostat which is normally set at 20 degrees so it only comes on automatically on very cold nights. A few easier to find thermostats that are preset at 30-35 degrees are best for most heaters in drafty areas or when you don't trust your pipe wrap. At 3 watts per foot, long runs will use some power, but the lack of a frozen/burst tube makes it a worthwhile investment. The instructions are pretty clear, using the fusible end of the custom connector for the 1-2-3 connection will save you a lot of trouble. I was surprised my plumber couldn't beat the price Revain was offering, but I got 100 feet through Revain for less than his plumbing shop would have sold him 50 feet. You see, my plumber bought an extra one from me.

  • Great price
Cons
  • Hard to say
