I am very happy with this

FROM THE HATED - Rule 1: Be sure to order the plug (#10802) as well! They don't tell you and you will need it. Also, it's 100 feet of cable and you shouldn't use more than 65 feet or you risk blowing fuses all the time. So if your job demands more, order plugs and cables accordingly. I needed this to pipe my 5 wheel trailer this winter (in Pennsylvania). there were no problems. Of course I went to extremes, wrapping the cable with electrical tape and then running it through PVC, but I'm scared…

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Only available in white

The only heating cable I would recommend

My original Easy heating cable is 20 years old and had a broken water line that didn't need replacing and re-piping, it would still be there and working fine. My new pipe is above ground in the basement so it's well packaged just in case, and the new light-duty heating cable installation is ready to go if we get an NE or temperature drop in the single digits. I wouldn't use anything other than a metal jacketed cable that freezes easily and doesn't heat up. I have an adjustable boiler thermostat

  • Great price

one of my favorite brands of heating tape

I live in Alaska so I have used several different heating tapes in my nearly 40 years here. The easyheat brand is surprisingly "easy" to install. Quite a few other heating tapes are Royal PITA and require heat shrink tubing, soldering etc. They are very easy to cut to any length you require and can be done within 5 minutes. You are ready to go. Although my water line is well insulated, the 20 feet of this run from my house to the ground helped me endure -43 degrees. Pretty remarkable at only 3…

  • Trial for one year
Cons
  • Requires outlet

Purchase additional end caps and end caps.

Good heating tape. Last night it was -25, and the pipes I taped and wrapped with insulation are flowing fine. The ones I didn't pack are frozen. I wrapped myself around the pies and the water meter on me and it worked fine, like a rope around it. I've also done long straight runs without bandages. Works great. I attached it to the pipe with tape. My two Pex pipes run side by side, so instead of running duct tape for each pipe I ran a pipe between the two and wrapped it in insulation. He should…

  • Quality construction

Protects pipes from freezing but beware of inrush current - see video

I did a lot of research on different heating cable systems and this product gave me the best value for money. Here are a few things I learned from my setup. I did not install the heating cable myself, so when I say "I" in this review, I mean my installer. I ran 240 feet of this heating cable under the basement of a vacation home in the White Mountains of northern Arizona. This heating cable allows me to turn off the water instead of draining the pipes so I can just turn on the water when I want

Pros
  • Got it!
Cons
  • Quality
