First the speaker gets 2 stars. The left satellite speaker had an intermittent connection, so I had to shake it constantly to make it work when I touched anything from behind. Although I could live with that. There are 2 control buttons on the back of the subwoofer. One for the treble and one for the bass. Nice feature. By turning the base knob you go from no base to much base instead of incrementally increasing. What I really couldn't handle was trying to watch movies and having a hard time understanding what people were saying. I had to put the film back in place and listen to the actors over and over again to understand what was being said in the film's pivotal moments. For me that's just not acceptable. It's really lacking in mids, but has more base than anyone could ever want or use. To be honest I've heard better sound from much cheaper speakers which is why I returned this system. Second: Revane gets 1 star. I was charged almost $20 for return shipping. I'm REALLY mad at Revane. We used to be able to return items free of charge if they were sold by Revain.
