Review on Makita 792299 8 8 Inch Tooth Blade by Roy Bush

Revainrating 4 out of 5

If you need to cut plastic/acrylic you need this disc!

I work as a carpenter and am repairing a bathtub. We often install acrylic wall panels and splashbacks for baths and showers. Having tried almost every saw and blade combination to cut acrylic sheet without "breaking" it, this is the blade! The thin kerf and no rake/angle make this blade ideal for cutting the 1/8" thick acrylic sheets we use. At $200 a blade it's a real bummer if you blast the cut and the nick and snap just doesn't This blade works so well that I can only cut 1/16th of the edge if I dry fit the sheets before gluing - I used to have to use a micro planer or a random orbital sander for an accurate fit - every sheet but this small blade Works great!I use it with the Makita 12V CXT Mini Circular Saw Kit (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B019WA7146/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and so far have been very impressed with them Cuts we have received! I don't know yet how long the blade will last but honestly at $200 per sheet for acrylic if I can get 2-3 jobs per blade I will be very happy! Will update this review ren as soon as I use the blade more .
