Review on Enhanced Powerstroke Injector Tune Up Shim Kit for 7.3L (1994-2003) with Special Installation Tools by Shawn Jimenez

Great results but not the best kit

I installed this kit because my 2000 7.3 liter engine will not start and would definitely not start on a cold day without the heater block plug in Came out this morning and lit well at 18 degrees, no heating. Hooray! However, there were issues with the kit and it took more than a month to fix them. All the necessary tools are included in the kit: there are even 2 sets of torx bits in case a tip frays. However, all 4 tips were T20 and you will need T10 to install the spare screws provided. During my aimless scouring of Costco, I found I had a set from many years ago, and it had T10s in it! 2. Replaceable nozzle slide bolts are included as the factory bolt heads are very easy to strip. It has to be done because I almost confirmed it. However, the interchangeable screw heads are too high and tower over the pushers. These long screw heads will block full movement of the injector because the screw head will hit the solenoid before the injector is fully open. I struggled with this for almost 30 days and only realized it when I finally decided to remove the kit. After carefully grinding down the head of the bolt and removing 0.6mm from the head, the truck started as before. heads. Unfortunately, I took the truck apart to install the kit and put everything back together, then did a lot of troubleshooting when it wouldn't start, then took it apart again to finally attach the bolt heads. I'm glad it's finally working well, but it took a lot more effort than it should have. If you decide to use this kit, be sure to grind the screw heads to a height of 2.5mm before starting work. And make sure you have at least one T20 torx bit and one T10 bit.
