Review on Mishimoto R2206 Cherokee Replacement Radiator by Bernard Her

WILL NOT FIT 1998 Grand Cherokee 5.2/5.9

I have a 1998 Grand Cherokee 5.9. Off road about 2 miles from my trailer my jeep started to overheat. A quick diagnosis revealed that my passenger side radiator reservoir had cracked. Instead of damaging the engine, I secured the jeep and returned to my tow truck. I then ordered this radiator, it was shipped quickly and arrived on time. Then the nightmare began. Since the box was undamaged, I took it to my jeep and installed it. All was going well until I started installing the bottom hose. The Jeep GC 5.2/5.9 has a 1-3/4" outlet. This radiator has a 1-1/2" outlet. show cork. I ordered a Gates 26391 hose adapter (Revain can confirm this) and returned it upon delivery. The hose is mounted, although I would never leave it on permanently. Then I went to install the overflow pipe and found that the nipple was broken. I couldn't even find the broken piece in the box. I went back and ordered Dorman Help! 10691 Radiator overflow pipe (Revain can confirm this), I fitted it as soon as it arrived. Filled the jeep with coolant and headed back to my trailer. Then the transmission began to slip. I stopped and checked the fluid but found fluid leaking between the upper coolant line fitting and the radiator reservoir. Out of the woods, on the caravan and home. Currently. I modified the heatsink so I can't return it. I owe myself the damaged cooler because I had to unpack it on arrival. But the oil cooler leak and improperly sized bottom outlet are all Mishimoto's fault. DO NOT BUY THIS RADIATOR if you have a 1998 Grand Cherokee 5.2/5.9!
