Review on Filament Dryer by Jason Lockwood

I wasn't sure if those things would help much. It seemed a bit sketchy that warmer would actually do a lot for the filament. Well I was wrong. Something like. After watching a youtube video on how to modify the unit to add a fan and do it and add a desiccant, it keeps my PETG and PLA fantastically dry. As such, I don't think it's something to write home about. This creates a hot spot under the filament and nothing more. It also doesn't come with insulation on the sides as shown in the pictures but that's ok I fixed that too. However, according to mods, it is quite effective. I took a new 1kg roll of Duramic PETG, used once for a small project, sealed it with a desiccant and weighed it before running it with a newly modified drying chamber. It weighed 887.9g, worked a total of 4 hours and dropped to 887.1g. A practically new roll contains almost a full gram of moisture. The next test will be running a domestic PETG roll which I was about to toss in the trash because I couldn't get it to not shrink, blow or blow when printed. Note that I didn't weigh it, just dried it. WOW! Not only did this fix the issues, but it also stopped me from tossing the $22 roll in the bin. I connected the Winsinn 4010 24V fan to the heater output wires, not to the power input connector as shown in the video. So it only works when it's heated up and not in mains operation, regardless of the condition of the device. Works like a champ. How much does it cost (including mods) compared to what I got, it's no problem! money well spent. Now when I print all the rolls are in the box no matter what.
