Review on ZEKOO 6FT Single Track Bypass Barn Door Hardware Kit, Double Sliding Doors Overlapping For Low Ceiling by Steven Guevara

We had a wide (60+ inch) doorway into a home work studio we wanted to cover up, and barn doors seemed like a cool design choice and one of the more reasonably-priced solutions. We knew they would leave gaps on each side, wouldn't block all sound, etc., but they'd be an effective barrier just to give a little privacy and separate the space better from the rest of the house. We also didn't have enough space to let the doors roll out to each side of the doorway, and didn't want to have to install a double track, so the bypass option seemed like a good choice to give us full coverage and also allow us to slide both doors out to one side.Our first shipment contained two separate bars that needed to be joined together. Unfortunately, one of those bars was noticeably warped, and I worried that even if I could get it mounted to the wall, it would be applying excessive pressure as a result. A small connecting plate for joining the bars together also snapped in half after I fastened it to the bars, and exerted a small amount of torque. So my initial impression was not good.However, the company responded quickly to my complaints, clarifying that the connecting plate is really a cosmetic, rather than a structural/support feature, and also offering to send a replacement for the warped bar.After seeing the spacing of holes on the bars, I also realized that the length I initially ordered probably wouldn't work for my purposes — I needed a much longer bar on one side, and the holes for the bar spacers weren't going to line up well with wall studs if I got the same length of bar again. I explained this to the seller and they kindly sent a diagram with all the available lengths of bar they carry, complete with detailed dimensions and spacing for holes on each, so I was able to identify exactly the length I would need to complete my project. They sent replacement parts promptly, and free of charge.I hadn't installed barn door hardware before, so it took my a week or two to feel confident that I had everything I needed — I bought a poplar board to use as a header for extra support, measured everything a hundred times, returned the first set of doors I purchased for a slightly wider set, since I hadn't accounted properly for the doors overlapping when finally hung. but when I finally mounted everything, it all went together smoothly and looks and works great. The only hitch at the end was when I stripped one of the bolts that attaches the rollers to the doors, because the doors I bought were slightly thinner than whatever the optimal thickness of this set was. I purchased a replacement bolt at a local store and solved the problem with the rest of the bolts by adding some extra washers, and when I wrote to the company to suggest they include extra washers for other people who might have the same problem, they offered to just send replacement bolts at a better length for my doors.So the initial impressions were a little discouraging, but this company went above and beyond to offer options and solutions and make sure my project turned out well. Highly recommended.
