The plastic is not entirely glassy/transparent - it has a milky-white hue. The clips holding it to the shelf are for a really thick shelf (who has fridge shelves that thick?) so it still dangles/wiggles in its tightest position. The drawer doesn't slide all the way out (it "locks" presumably so you don't accidentally pull it out too far and drop your balls). So if you need to clean them, you have to take them whole. completely off the shelf. But he keeps the eggs in a drawer under the shelf in the fridge. So, it's all right. But not great. Simply good.
