Nice and thick, it removes the stains that my small but frequently used kitchen accumulates in the apartment. Also, they penetrate the gaps between the false "bricks" of the laminate floor much better than Swiffer pads. They are also easier to use; You simply place the mop on the pad and it stays in place - no need to fold over the edges like you did with the Swiffer. I would give them five stars except that the disposableness plays into my guilt about waste and the environment. I've tried washable carpets, but it doesn't make economic sense to me: The washing machines in my home laundry cost $1.75 each, and I have to wash the dirty carpets separately from my clothes and bedding.
